I feel like I’m starting to finally settle in to the swing of things here in NYC, and that’s all down to getting into a good weekly routine. Joining a gym is exactly what I need right now to give me more energy and more structure to achieve my goals.
This city is draining and amazing all at once, so you really need to look after yourself here. A good fitness regime is the perfect solution to get your energy levels up and it’s also a great excuse to allow yourself to switch off for a certain amount of time each day.
Erika, Michaela and I all felt that joining a gym as a little group would really help us to stay motivated and would be a lot of fun at the same time. I can’t tell you how excited I am that we have joined The PE Club here on the Upper East Side. We’ve each set ourselves 3 goals to work towards before Christmas time. The girls are going home for Christmas but unfortunately I am staying put, so I intend on continuing to work away over the holidays. Christmas time is for eating, eating and more eating, so I’m hoping to put in lots of hard work beforehand to leave some room to really enjoy the holidays here.
The PE club is a really quaint and beautiful boutique fitness studio located on the Upper East Side. From day one, we knew we were in great hands. The guys at The PE Club have a wealth of knowledge from working in the industry for so many years. They specialize in creating one-of-a-kind tailor made programs that cater to their clients needs including Personal Training, intimate Classes, Cardio Homework, Nutrition coaching and Physical Therapy. They gave us so much insight into the different ways that we can each achieve our goals, ways that I had never thought of before, yet now they seem so obvious. Having worked with big sports nutrition brands for almost a year, getting to know a huge range of athletes, and undergoing my own mini fitness transformation, I really thought that I had a good grip on what I needed to do and eat. I achieved my last set of goals before, and now I am even more excited to test my body in new ways and see how it reacts. It’s so exciting to get a different perspective, because there are so many different ways to achieve your desired physique.
Apart from the standard wishlist of a nice bum and abs, I’m really focusing on flexibility this time around. Anyone who knows me will be well aware of how inflexible I am, I genuinely can barely stretch my arms past my knees! I never realized how important flexibility is, especially in women, as we get older. I’m so excited to make progress here. I’ll be posting a before and after picture at the end of the whole course so that’s motivation in itself to give it 110%.
