Yesterday was a very bad day in the office/kitchen. I love playing around with lots of different recipes and ingredients but it’s a little frustrating when things don’t go your way! So I was determined that today was going to be a good one!
Like I mentioned here, I’m one of those really annoying morning people. So of course what better way to get a good run at the day than getting an early morning workout in! Hopefully when I get into the swing of things in New York, I’ll talk more about staying fit & active and about all the different ways that I love to do so. After completing my 6 week fitness transformation, I’ve found that the motivation to keep working out hasn’t really left me. If anything I’m more determined than ever to try and stick with the good routine.
So anyway, back to the point of this post. This is such a handy and tasty recipe to try if you’ve just worked out in the morning. It’s by no means revolutionary on my part, just a great way to combine two morning essentials! I love that it includes the hit of coffee I always need to wake up and the post-workout protein shake. This tastes somewhat like a Frappuccino from Starbucks (without the cream) but it’s so much better and guilt-free which is a winner.
I loved these all through the Summer and I’m going to hold on to them for as long as I can before it gets too chilly!
Coffee Crunch Recipe:
1 small cup of instant coffee
A generous handful of ice
1 glug of almond milk
1 scoop of chocolate whey protein mixed with water
- After making your cup of coffee, leave it to one side to cool off for a few minutes
- Add one scoop of chocolate whey protein to some water and shake it up
- Add your ice to the large Nutribullet cup
- Mix in the protein shake, the coffee & the almond milk
- Blend it up and serve
