My Favorite Way to Finish Off Every Workout

Happy Friday! Today marks my first full week of my new fitness & nutrition plan from Kevin Russell FitnessKev and I have been great friends for years after going to college together in NUI Galway. I took some time off from working out over the past few weeks, but with Coachella right around the corner, I’m now determined to get into the best shape ever! My last fitness “transformation” with Kev was put to an abrupt halt halfway through after a very unexpected and unusual injury! I still got great results though, so I’m very excited to start again and really give it 100%!

I feel like trust is so important when you start working with a personal trainer. You need to really believe that if you do what this person is telling you to do and when, that you’re going to get the results you want. Honesty is also absolutely imperative on the part of the trainer. Kev was always honest with me from the offset. I’ve said it before – I am a pancake (flat, front & back). So I definitely needed to know that I was not going to transform into WorkoutSo anyway, as I said, I’m going hell for leather between now and April. I’m trying to do everything possible to get that supermodel body I want ASAP haha. My new program consists of 5 days training, and 2 days off every week. Mondays & Wednesdays are my leg days, I focus on my upper body on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and Fridays are the dreaded HIIT days. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training (lots of burpees and mountain climbers) and it is brilliant for fat loss. I’ve decided to incorporate a mini HIIT workout to finish off all of my sessions to try and really get into the shape I want. It’s by no means easy, but if you try it then let me know!

Abs:

1 minute plank

30 seconds weighted russian twists

Repeat 3 times, and no breaks in between each move.

Cardio:

On the treadmill, warm up with a minute jog. Then…

30 seconds sprinting // 30 seconds jog // 30 seconds walk

45 seconds sprinting // 45 seconds jog // 45 seconds walk

30 seconds sprinting // 30 seconds jog // 30 seconds walk

I shot this look with Edelle last weekend. This hoody is from Forever 21, but I got it a while ago so here is a similar one that is still in stock!

Have a great weekend!
