Hello hello! I hope everyone’s week is off to a good start! Last week was a game of catch up for me after our trip to Miami so I’m only getting back into the blog groove now. This post contains everything you need to know about what we got up to in Miami, so I hope that you enjoy!
SLS South Beach, Miami
We stayed in the SLS South Beach and I honestly would go back in a heart beat. It was one of the most stunning hotels that I’ve stayed in, ever! I actually found the hotel on Instagram and the second I saw it I knew I wanted to stay there!
The SLS would be perfect for young couples or groups of friends either. The Saturday that we arrived, there was a crazy pool party going on at one of the two pools. It was nice because if you wanted to get involved you could, or you could chill out by other the pool and avoid the madness if you wanted to.
Our room faced out onto the beach and it was such a nice change from our usual morning view, which is literally the wall of another building! I’m not joking, we have zero natural light in our apartment in Manhattan, so just spending two nights in such a light, bright and airy room was the dream. The decor was so artistic in every single corner of the hotel, we literally couldn’t fault it.
The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming at the reception and around the grounds. When we first arrived, we were a few hours early for our room so we just relaxed by the pool. They have a waiter service at the pool which was the dream! We got food and drinks and couldn’t have been happier or more comfortable.
SLS stands for “Something Lovely Started”, and we noticed over the weekend that all of the signs and notices around the hotel started with the letters SLS. The signs around the pool when the ground was wet read “Sorry, Little Slippery” & the drinks menu read “Sip Liquor Slowly”. The attention to detail was just second to none on every level!
I’m also very excited because just on Saturday I noticed that there is an SLS Hotel opening up on Park Avenue right by my apartment! I can’t wait to visit it once it opens.
Where to eat
We actually got so lucky with our food choices for once and it made the biggest difference to our weekend. I swear by doing my research before we go anywhere! I would highly recommend the following:
- The Front Porch Cafe for Brunch. We waited about 40 minutes for a table but it was so worth it! They have so many options to chose from and everything looked delicious.
- The Naked Taco for lunch.
- KYU in Wynwood. Best meal of my life. I’m not even joking.
Things to do
We essentially wanted to go down to Miami to chill in the sun and that is exactly what we did. All of the lifeguard stations along South Beach are decorated with different themes and they’re really worth seeing. Ocean Drive is definitely worth a stroll too. If you’re unlucky like us and it pours rain all day long while you are visiting Miami, FEAR NOT! We visited The Escape Room, which is just off Ocean Drive and was right by our hotel. It’s really hard to explain but basically it’s an hour long activity where you are put in a room with other people and have to figure out a way to get out by using clues. I know I’m not doing it justice at all, but trust me it’s worth it if it’s raining, it was such a laugh.
Also, in case you missed it… While we were in Miami, I partnered with Otterbox to promote some of their new styles for the iPhone 7 Plus. I did an Instagram takeover for them so be sure to check out their page to see the pictures! My favorite case is the clear glittery case (see here). It looks so pretty against my gold phone. It’s the little things!
